"When I was a child, I wanted to be an artist. At first I thought that might be making comics. Later I went to museums and saw work by jeff koons, murakami, charles ray, I thought that was pretty cool too. Later I saw videos by Matthew Barney and i was excited about the idea of making some kind of total art.
“At the time, I was still making clothes, and I was recruiting friends with other talents to make different pieces. I created a group called AIDS-3D , which was part of the post-internet movement, 7 years later we ended our activities and my life moved on to another phase. After a few detours and a few other ventures, I got back into art, moved to China, and started making clothes more seriously, and now I'm expanding my art and fashion activities. I am here, interweaving my experiences from my time outside the art world.”

"But I was also making clothes, and recruiting my friends with other talents to help me make other things too. Anyways I ended up in art school and started collaborating with my friend Daniel Keller. We made a group called AIDS-3D. It was a part of the Post-Internet movement. After 7 years we called it quits and I moved into some other phase of my life. After a detour of several years and a few other enterprises, I made my return to art and moved to China. I also started to make clothes more seriously. And that's where we find me now, extending my art and fashion practice, mixing in my experiences from my time outside of the art world.”
■ One of the main reasons why I create art is
Because I believe that everything is controlled by the universe.
-In an interview with another medium in the past, you said that your spiritual way of thinking is reflected in your work and influences your motivation to work. Huh?
In previous articles you have cited personal spiritual growth as both being reflected in and fueling your work. In your opinion what does it mean to be living a "spiritually sound" life?
“One of the main reasons I create art is because I believe the universe controls everything. gives me a lot of peace and comfort and I can work without worrying too much about the consequences.I am also in a spiritual group and we meet often to discuss life. These activities help me not to overwhelm my brain and to see what happens in life: negative experiences lead to positive experiences and vice versa, life ends. It lasts until

"One of the main reasons I am able to make art is that I trust that the universe is in control. I do not need to be, or actually am really not, in control of anything. That gives me a lot of peace and comfort. and allows me to make work without worrying too much about the outcome.I am part of a spiritual group that meets and discusses life, and part of that is also helping other people. These activities help me keep my head out of my ass too deeply and maintain perspective on the things that happen in my life. The negative experiences lead to positive ones and vice versa, and life goes on, until it ends.”

Your products often seem to focus heavily on health and the human body. How has your interest in these fields informed your thought process when it came time to design clothing?
“Most of my motivations for creating clothes came from my earnest desire to improve the functionality of things and convey my desire to convey them. I wanted it to be a uniform for any movement, but at the same time it could be worn for any occasion of the day: business, training, play, etc. Most of the clothes I design are super comfortable. Ease of movement and freedom are essential.”

"A lot of my inspiration for making clothes came from a sincere desire to improve things functionally, and to communicate. The first things i really made were based on a gi. The idea was that they would be a uniform that allows for any kind of physical movement but also allow the wearer to use them at any phase of their day, from business to training to hanging out. The clothes I design are almost always super comfortable. Freedom of movement is essential.”
